How To Uninstall Programs Manually

Uninstalling software shouldn't be a daunting task. Most programs supply an uninstall solution, but not on all. This is when uninstalling can become a chore. Some applications you install onto your computer, most likely from an internet source are actually malware, which makes it extremely difficult to entirely remove. There are solutions out there, but first we'll go through the basics of force removing software.

How To Uninstall Programs Manually

Once you've identified the unwanted program that you want to remove you must;

Navigate to Start Menu
Find the Programs sub-menu
Locate the Uninstall option and select it
If it's not there navigate to the root folder of the program and you'll see it there, if available
Now that the software has been completely removed you will be prompted to restart your system. This will complete the uninstall task. If this not a success then I suggest a force remove, explained below.

How To Force Uninstall

When unwanted, out-dated or previously left over files need to be removed this is a job for a force remove. This part of the article is going take you through steps to do this yourself. Before starting I suggest that you close down the programs that you want to delete. Otherwise you could still be left with traces of the software on your system.

Navigate to the Start button, then click on the Settings tab.
Once Settings is located click Control Panel.
Within the Control Panel Click Add/Remove Programs button.
Please wait for it load properly, this varies on every machine. Then you'll notice a list of all the current installed software on your system. Select the program you wish to uninstall.
You'll notice the uninstall option has appeared. Select and confirm the uninstall.
Wait for the progress to complete.
Now that it has been uninstalled you are advised to restart your computer to complete the uninstall process, I recommend completing this step. If this process didn't work then the only other option I can suggest is a software alternative that will automatically complete the process for you.

If you want to completely force uninstall any unwanted programs, applications or software then you should follow the steps above, in any order. Either way presented above will completely remove most programs, but If these steps don't work then the best option is to get a 3rd party uninstaller software solution, or to call out a professional IT engineer.
